The Prima APBX 10 AS2 active subwoofer, with its 10" driver, features a dedicated high-performance amplifier module that enhances all passive box technologies, such as the 2S² design (2 Sides / 2 Sounds), Plug & Play connection block and ultra-compact size. The amplifier module, with an output power of 400W RMS, is developed with he-li technology (high efficiency / low impedance), which, thanks to the lack of a DC-DC voltage booster, reaches an impressive efficiency of 90%, very close to the theoretical limit of class D.
The new input stage technology DBT (Dynamic Bass Tracking) allows 100% use of the he-li amplifier's power and provides a resilient and dynamic bass sound even at very high listening volumes. Eliminating the voltage booster was made possible thanks to the development of the new bass elements with dual voice coils, which inherit all the technological background of the Prima subwoofers but are distinguished by their ultra-low impedance (0.16 ohms for the APBX 10 AS). This feature ensures a perfect synergy with the he-li technology, maximizing the combination of amplifier, speaker and closed box, to achieve low, powerful and clear frequencies.
The control section provides optimal control of the low frequency level in the car's cabin. The 12 dB/octave Butterworth low-pass filter with variable cut-off frequency (50-200 Hz) can be bypassed when used with an AP bit processor with pre-out dedicated to the subwoofer. The adjustable bass boost control (0 ÷ 6 dB) at 45 Hz allows the user to emphasize the response in the lower part of the spectrum.
The high-level speaker input on the multi-pin connector facilitates integration with OEM sound systems, while the low-level input on RCA is intended for connection to aftermarket sources. The automatic on/off function ART (Automatic Remote Turn-On) of the subwoofer can be configured to be controlled by the source's remote signal, voltage variation on the high-level input or the audio signal on both inputs. Phase control (0-180°) completes the equipment. The SSP (Sub Smart Plug) terminal block is equipped with a single Plug&Play connector for easy and safe disconnection of the box.
